Leading Equality & Diversity

Online Course

The primary aim of this course is to equip delegates with the skills to provide excellent leadership on inclusion, equality and diversity in their organisations. It is built around three core learning objectives:

  1. Understand and extend individual and organisation’s commitment to equality and diversity;
  2. Understand and enhance the application of equality and diversity;
  3. Understand and work effectively with the needs of others in the area of equality and diversity.

This unit is the vocational equivalent academic level of a bachelor’s degree / postgraduate certificate. It will appeal to those managers and equality & diversity practitioners seeking to enhance equality and diversity within their organisations – and underpin their work with a national recognised qualification. As a vocational qualification, it combines the rigour of a Level 6 Award with the practical application in the workplace.

It is ideally suited to:

  • Those in a management and leadership position in organisations
  • Those in a governance position
  • Those whose role includes the ‘lead’ on inclusion, equality and diversity

Course Director Liz Cumberbatch has designed the course for delegates to:

  • Use this course to analyse what’s really going on in their organisation
  • Be able to research and critique their organisation
  • Emphasise the crucial importance of inclusion to enhance both the cultural environment and enhance business performance
  • Be aware of ‘unconscious bias’ and where it resides in the organisation
  • Describe how to promote and implement pro-active inclusion approaches that are designed to resonate with everyone in the business

Overall, it goes well beyond compliance and emphasises best practice.
